The Maryland Bonsai Association is a non-profit organization and has it's roots established dating back to the 1970's by a group of enthusiasts who shared the common bond of bonsai. Today our members share the same enthusiasm.
Maryland Bonsai is a member of the Potomac Bonsai Association (PBA) and has many members who were supporters of the building of the Bonsai Pavilion at the US National Arboretum in Washington, DC.
As the popularity and interest in Bonsai has grown, the club has continued to evolve and make changes for the benefit of everyone who wants to increase their knowledge, skills, and activities at all levels from beginner to expert. Part of this growth was the welcoming of new members from all parts of Maryland, DC, Virginia and Delaware. We are proud that our name reflects the opportunities for new members to participate in a regional club.
Meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of every month from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. We try to meet in different locations convenient to our members. The business meeting is followed by an informational presentation or a workshop.
The club is active in the community and conducts workshops for Garden Clubs, Social Groups, Churches, Schools, and many other groups. We participate in the Maryland Home and Garden Show, and many other events.
We also encourage and sponsor advanced level workshops and study groups conducted by instructors specially trained in the art of Bonsai. The study groups consist of a limited number of participants meeting with the instructor 4- 6 times a year.
If you would like to know more about Maryland Bonsai, next meeting, workshops, become a member, or anything else please submit the contact form and we will get back to you.
