September 2026 Western Maryland Meeting

Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

Sunny Meadows Garden Center

7437 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713, USA

Our Vice President, Bobby Wheeler, will be leading these Western Maryland Meetings of the Maryland Bonsai Association. Bobby plans to begin each meeting at 10:00 a.m. Because we expect many people to be attending their first Maryland Bonsai Association meeting, the morning session (10:00 a.m. until 11:00) will feature a beginner-friendly bonsai discussion and presentation designed to introduce newcomers to the art while still offering useful information for experienced members. We'll then take a short break around 11:00 for snacks before transitioning into the general membership portion of the meeting, which will continue until approximately 1:00 p.m. Members are encouraged to bring trees to work on, ask questions, and enjoy an afternoon of learning and fellowship.

This new meeting is intended to make our club more accessible to members and prospective members in Western Maryland, but it is not replacing our regular monthly meeting. Members are welcome to attend:
• Our regular fourth Sunday monthly meeting,
• The new second Saturday Western Maryland meeting, or
• Both meetings each month!

🗒️Seller Registration: Sellers must register and provide details on the items they want to auction using the following Google form. https://forms.gle/ymHADUW7wGwtd8N37 . We will have limited availability to register items the morning of the auction. Failure to complete the Google form may result in your items not going into the auction. While we are allowing “Reserve” pricing, please consider not putting a reserve price on every item so we can have a successful and fun auction.
Note: If you have several smaller (low price) items (for example, a couple of small pots, a few seedlings, a couple of books, etc.), please consider registering them as a single item (lot).
✅Item Check-in: Items must be delivered to the venue and checked in before 10:00 a.m. on auction day. Items may not be delivered before 9:00 a.m.
💵Seller Fees: There will be a 20% seller fee deducted from your total sales prior to payment settlement.
💰Payment Settlement: Because we want to review auction records carefully before payment, seller settlement will not occur the day of the auction. If you agree to payment settlement electronically via a Zelle transfer, the MBA Treasurer will send your proceeds within 3 business days after the end of the auction. The only other seller settlement option is by a mailed check. If you choose to have a check mailed, the MBA Treasurer will mail your check within 7 business days.
🚙Unsold Item Removal: Any unsold items must be removed from the venue by 2 p.m. on auction day.

Information for Bidders
🗓️Bidder Registration: Bidder registration begins and 10:00 a.m. on auction day. You should register by 10:30 a.m. to reduce distraction of the auction volunteers. There is no fee to register as a bidder.
💸Payment Settlement: Bidders may pay electronically via a Zelle transfer or pay by cash or check. We expect to offer credit card processing, but can’t guarantee availability so please have an alternative payment option. If you pay by credit card, an additional 3% processing fee will be added to your total.
🚗Sold Item Removal: Any purchased items must be removed from the venue by 2 p.m. on auction day.

We hope to make this a large regional auction so the auction will be open to other area clubs to sell and buy.
If you have any questions, please email marylandbonsai@yahoo.com.

Thank you,
Michael Ecker, President
Maryland Bonsai Association
